With a passion for both visual art and avant-garde fashion, she works to bring creative ideas to life. Her cosplay and modeling work have been featured worldwide on MTV, in documentaries, magazine editorials, and various other media.

Known as RuffleButt (previously AnimeAngel), Jessie is a 17 year veteran of the diverse and colorful cosplay community. An accomplished and award winning seamstress in her own right, she has served as a cosplay model for some of the biggest companies in the Anime and gaming industry, including Machinima, Ubisoft, Aniplex, Funimation, Bandai, NIS America and others. In the last year she has also made costumes for and Obsidian Entertainment. For conventions, she has judged numerous Masquerades, coordinated competitions of all kinds and hosted many panels. Jessie has also had the honor of judging the 2012 Eurocosplay Championship finals in London. She has been featured in an episode of Subcultures as well as videos by Machinima and Nerdist. She also volunteers her time for the Combat Radio's Breakfast with Santa charity and CASA. Early in 2014, she was featured in a Microsoft Windows Phone ad representing cosplay and was featured in a full page spread of Airbrush Action with a body painting project coordinated by Webble.

When not working on her latest costume creation, Jessie's passion is photography, with her work being published in various online and print publications including Newsweek.

A prominent member of the nerd and youtube community, he has hosted for outlets such as Movie Pilot, Machinima, Afterbuzz TV, and Disney. No stranger to lifestyle brands, has modeled for a number of geek fashion venues such as Disney Style, Loot Wear, We Love Fine, Le Geek So Chic, and Pop Sugar.

Bonnie Gordon is coming to Anime Fan Fest!
Don't miss out on Bonnie Gordon who will be coming to Anime Fan Fest!

Although recently seen on many different screen projects and web series, Bonnie is most recognized for her time on ABC's inventively fun fantasy/reality show, The Quest.
If her face doesn't seem familiar to you, then perhaps her voice will... From video games to anime, some of her voiceover credits include Street Fighter V (Rainbow Mika); Ikki Tousen (Soujin); Mighty MagiSwords (Cartoon Network); Akiba's Trip; Guided Fate Paradox (Frunetti/Misery); Demon Gaze (Comit, Chronos, and Pluto).
Bonnie's most recent project includes her best friend, Xander Jeanneret, from TBS's King of the Nerds! Together they've created The Library Bards - a nerd parody band that takes top 40 hits and transforms them into nerdy, geektastic tunes.

Xander Jeanneret will be in attendance at Anime Fan Fest

Xander Jeanneret is an actor, voice over artist, and reality personality living in Hollywood, CA. A fan favorite finalist on the popular TBS show, King of the Nerds (Season 2), Xander has also provided the voice of the "Announcer" on the hit indie fighting game Divekick and the voice of Zampa in the MMORPG Dragon Nest. Most recently, Xander has been traveling the US with his parody band The Library Bards, a collaboration with Bonnie Gordon (ABC's The Quest, Street Fighter V). Fluent in Japanese, and a member of the LGBTQ Community, Xander brings his flair and unique perspective to events around the world.

The Infamous Mike McFarland is coming to Anime Fan Fest!!!

Mike got his start in anime as one of the first voice actors in Texas to be hired by FUNimation Entertainment, and has since moved on to become a Director, Script Writer, and Line Producer for numerous anime series. Notable roles include Master Roshi and Yajirobe in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, Baby and Baby-Vegeta in Dragon Ball GT, Jean Kirstein in Attack on Titan, Goemon in Lupin The Third (Movie Specials), Ritsu Sohma in Fruits Basket, Lt. Jean Havoc in Fullmetal Alchemist, Cain in Trinity Blood, Buggy the Clown in One Piece, Amon in Tokyo Ghoul, "Ranka" Fujioka in Ouran High School Host Club, Tybalt in Romeo x Juliet, Leo in Burst Angel, Estonia in Hetalia, Crow in Show By Rock, as well as various roles in Yu Yu Hakusho, My Hero Academia, Nerima Daikon Brothers, Kodocha, Desert Punk, Black Cat, Kiddy Grade, Shin Chan, Space Dandy, and many others.

Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld is coming to Anime Fan Fest

Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld is best known for her roles as Bonnie and Nurse Joy on Pokémon, Rio Kastle on Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, Kahori Harukawa in Psychic School Wars, Joy LeFrog on Regal Academy, Princess Leonora and Baba Cara on Super 4, and Ally and Riley on Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc V! You will soon hear her as the voice of Fraw Bow in Gundam: The Origin IV and as Sophocles in Pokemon Sun & Moon. She has provided voices for numerous cartoons, video games, toys and commercials. She can also be seen performing theatre in New York City (most recently in the critically-acclaimed Seussical), and on-screen in her new web series Crumbly Kitchen (

The Anime Fan Fest is a two day event held April 22nd to 23rd at the Garden State Exhibit Center. Registration is available using the REGISTRATION button on this site, or at your local comic book shop. Additional details about the event can be found on the FAQ page or by emailing Customer Service.

What is Anime Fan Fest?
Anime Fan Fest, where friends come together and celebrate being Otaku. Anime fandom took hold in the Universities and comic shops all throughout the eastern United States, from Ohio over to New York and down into the Carolinas. One could say that New Jersey is the crossroad of anime fandom and what better way to celebrate, then to renew past friendships and explore new ones. New Jersey Anime Fan FEST will showcase the exceptional works of your favorite actors, cosplayers, artists and musicians who rejoice in being Otaku. At New Jersey Anime Fan FEST you'll find exhibitors promoting and selling all types of related products, as well as entertaining and educational panels, guest signings and providing a safe zone for you and your whole family. The Anime Fan Fest Team
Martha Donato (Executive Director; Founder/Principal) is the President of MAD Event Management, an all-purpose event planning facilitator. Donato has over 19 years of experience.

Genevieve Prifte (General Manager) has been planning and running large scale trade shows, conferences, and special events with a focus on Event Operations, Sponsorship Development, and processes and efficiency across the entire event planning process for the past 11 years.

Douglas Brown (Marketing Manager), graduate of Morehouse College is dedicated in developing a marketing strategy and growing the brand.

RuthAnn Thompson (Asst. Show Manager; Programming Coodinator) s a partner at GeekChic Promotions and has extensive event and program planning experience. She loves dark chocolate, Dragon Ball Z and parties are in her blood... Planning them, that is.

Caterina Toscano (Volunteer Manager) is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC and works at a NYC Advertising Agency. She has been attending and working at comic-cons since she was a teenager. You can find her working in the Volunteer or Registration areas at Anime Fan Fest!

Arlene So (Art Director; Design Ninja) has been a graphic designer for over 20 years and ever so briefly, worked security at a comic con a while back. She is also a producer for an award-winning web series called Haywire.

Kris Simon (Programming Manager) has written and edited comics for over 10 years, and introduced hundreds of middle school girls to the comic book industry as a Program Manager for Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles. Her love for the medium can only be surpassed by her love for a good burger.

Carly Marsh (Event Coordinator) handles administrative duties as well as assists the MAD Event Management team with various tasks. Carly is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality management and a minor in event management.

Kris Longo (Sales Director) is the founder of Geek Riot Media, the first and only fully integrated geek culture advertising and sponsorship representation firm. Prior to Geek Riot, Longo managed East Coast advertising sales for DC Comics and served as Vice President of Business Development for Bonfire Agency.

Anime Fan Fest POLICIES
Panel Rooms

All programming rooms have limited capacity as set by the Edison Fire Marshal and subject to available seating. Although your Anime Fan Fest badge is required for entry into all events, it doesn't guarantee you access to any programming session if it has reached its capacity, subject to the discretion of Garden State Exhibit Center and Anime Fan Fest staff members. We don't clear our programming rooms between sessions.


Anime Fan Fest believes in creating an environment where every attendee, exhibitor and staff member is treated with respect and dignity, and does not tolerate any act of bullying or harassment. If an attendee of any type is believed to be in violation of our rules, they will be asked to leave immediately without reimbursement of any kind. Anime Fan Fest employs professional security guards who enforce our rules and regulations, as do our staff members. Volunteers are NOT staff members and are assisting us in exchange for certain reimbursement and experiential value. Please report any serious incidents or concerns to a ANime Fan Fest Staff Member, as identified by their badge.


We have a strict policy of checking weapons to ensure that they are only props. The security guards at the entrance will check yours and place a band on it to show that it's been approved. The responsibility to get this weapons check performed is yours, so please don't sneak in without it. We reserve the right to deny access to anyone who presents a public safety or security issue in our sole discretion.

The following items are forbidden at AFF:
  • All firearms (including air soft guns, BB guns, cap guns, paintball guns and pellet guns)
  • Replica firearms (including reproduction, fake or toy guns that can be confused for real firearms)
  • Projectile weapons (including blow guns, crossbows, long bows, slingshots and water guns)
  • Metal-bladed weapons (including axes, daggers, hatches, knives, kunai, shuriken, swords, sword canes and switch blades)
  • Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks)
  • Mace and pepper spray
  • Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, clubs and nunchaku)
  • Hard prop weapons (including props made of metal, fiberglass and glass)
We allow prop weapons if they are composed of foam or cardboard only. Prop firearms are allowed only if they cannot be mistaken for real weapons. The barrel of all prop firearms must be covered with brightly-colored caps. We allow prop bows if all arrows have soft tips.

I am a Professional interested in attending the convention. What do I need to do?
Anime Fan Fest is pleased to offer complimentary admission to creative and trade professionals working in the animation, manga, comic, entertainment or related industry. After the deadline of April 29, a $20 fee will apply. Anime Fan Fest staff will review your submission and you will be contacted with further registration instructions. Professional badges are for industry professionals only, no guests.

Where do I pick up my badge? What about pre-registration?
There will be a clearly-marked booth in the Lobby of the Convention Center for walk-ins. Pre-registrants will take their barcode scan copies or use their smart phones at the Advance Registration Area. It's that easy!

Do I have to wear it at all times?
Yes - you need to wear it inside the hall at all times.

I want to dress my dog up as my sidekick and bring him. Can I?
Sorry, no pets, except for registered service animals.

Can I take pictures?
Generally, you can take photographs at Anime Fan Fest of the conventioneers and exhibits. Please respect the privacy and ask before taking a picture of a celebrity, as some of them charge for their photo and autograph.

Where can I park and how do I get there?
There are parking lots located at the Garden State Exhibit Center and all around the area that are privately owned.

Where are the ATM machines?
Cash machines are located in the main lobby.

Where is Lost & Found located?
Lost & Found is located in the main lobby at the registration Booth.

Do I have to pay extra to get autographs?
Some guests charge for their autographs, and some don't. Please ask first.

I really need to take this call, it's my agent...
Then really, take it outside. Please be courteous and no cell phone usage when you are at panels, events or in programming rooms.

To complete my costume, I carry a large battle-axe that I hone to razor sharpness every day. It's cool for me to bring that, right?
Ummm, seriously? Props are one thing, but anything that could take an eye out, could hurt someone, or make the cops (or my mother) take it away from you, is not allowed.

I need to blog frequently... is there wi-fi?
The Garden Sate Exhibit Center does offer wi-fi service on the promenade level for a small fee. Launch your browser and you'll reach their homepage.

Who are the mysterious people behind the curtain of the Anime Fan Fest?
The AFF team is comprised of people who celebrate what they love. They put in countless hours to create the best experience they can for fans, guests and exhibitors alike.

Garden State Exhibit Center

No hassle move-in and operations give the professional show manager or event professional the freedom and convenience they deserve. Central Jersey's second largest exhibit space, the Garden State Exhibit Center offers three loading docks, one drive in door, unlimited floor load and 20-foot ceiling clearance.

The Garden State Exhibit is right off I-287 Exit 10 and within convenience of Newark International Airport (30 minutes), New York City, Lincoln Tunnel (50 minutes), Philadelphia Airport (1 hour 30 minutes) and four nearby major highways (I-95/NJ Turnpike, Garden State Parkway, Route 1, and Route 22).

The Garden State Exhibit Center is convenient to all major transportation centers with public transportation available from New York City provided by AMTRAK to both New Brunswick and Islen/Metropark.

Anime Fan Fest welcomes media outlets that cover the animation, manga, comic, or entertainment industry on a regular basis. Please provide the following information and documentation. Anime Fan Fest staff will review your application. Approved applicants will be contacted with further registration instructions. Press passes are only available to working personnel from your organization, no guests. 2 passes maximum per outlet, please. Please click the following link and fill out the form entirely.

Our priority is to provide a safe and inviting atmosphere for attendees, press, vendors and guests alike, so please conduct yourself professionally at all times and announce yourself as a press representative (naming your outlet) when approaching vendors, guests and attendees. Be courteous and ask permission before shooting pictures of vendors, attendees (including cosplayers), and guests (who may be charging for pictures). We want everyone to be happy, so your cooperation is a big part of that.
